Garden in Front of Units 18 and 19

Started Weekend of 21/22 September 2024

Marked where general pathways would be.

path across from 19

path 18

Planted initial BCC plants. These are mainly Westringia (small shrubs, white or light blue/purple flowers), Leptospermum Pink Cascades (low-growing spreading plants with small pink flowers), one Leptospermum (small tea tree), one Myoporum parvifolium (toward front of photo where ground was very hard).

Grass/weeds removed and plant put in. Lightly mulched. During the week residents will water plants and think about how the path works and whether it needs adjusting.
As ground improves from the new plants and watering, other grass will be easier to removing and then that area mulched. More small tubestock to be obtained from Kumbartcho to fill the gaps. Eventually all the planted areas merge until there is no grass.

Decision to be made re pathway placement and mulch. (possible sheet mulched)

The ground right at the front of Unit 18 was very hard – possibly from previous owner’s vehicle.
