The building has a toilet and shower inside – but no power. It flooded in 2022 part way up the walls. It has flooded before and been repaired.
Rather than repair we propose to remove the shed and leave the slab. This means moving the meter box which is for power for the street lights – perhaps to the side of the bin shed near the bottom street light.
The shed may need to be reinforced for that to happen.
Alternatives are to attach to the wall of Unit 26.
Or to have some sort of structure so it can stay where it is – and still very close to floodwater.
Maybe the meter box could go on the side of this shed (might need to be made stronger)
Jobs:
Electrician: Move power box
Plumber: Get toilet sealed off and leave one tap only.
Jim’s Diggers: Demolish and dispose of shed leaving the slab. Cut some steps into the earth to make it easier to walk down.
Quotes to be obtained for EGM April / May 2022
When this is done discussions on the design of that area and the use of the slab can begin in earnest.
Note: The damaged retaining wall behind it is the concern of the Body Corporate next door. Please keep clear until that has been fixed.
Outcome:
Advice is that this it is impractical to move electricity and remove or change the building significantly
